i live in illinois. my name is on the mortgage but not on the note. i filed a quit claim deed. the house is going to be foreclosed and i received summons. am i responsible for any payments in this property? is my credit score going to be affected by this? can they put a lien against my house (different property acquired with husband)
Hi Paomedinac,
As you say you're not on property deed but your name is mentioned on Mortgage, That means you're not responsible as a property owner & you do not have any author on property but you will be responsible for make payment to lender for mortgage balance. If this house going to foreclosure it will damage your credit score.
They cannot put lien on your another property which you owe with your husband.
Thanks & Regards.
