hello,
i'm writing this because as of this moment my husband and i have run out of options, we're not sure what to do, and we're desperate.
6-7 years ago my husband was engaged to another woman, and with the help of her father (as co-signer), she convinced him to buy a home for them in his name. so he was signed on the deed and the mortgage of the home. however, 2 years later she left him for another man. now every time he tries to discuss this matter with them, saying "i want to get off the deed and the mortgage of the home", both people involved refuse to let him out of the mortgage and the deed.
is there anything we can do to get his name off the mortgage since they both flatly refuse to refinance in order for his name and responsibility to be taken off of this mortgage?
thank you for any help on this confusing situation,
jessica

You can file a "partition" lawsuit to force the sale of the property with a division of proceeds.
