I have been divorced for eight years. My ex just recently got a modified loan and my name is still on it. I found out I am now responsible for the next fourty years on a house I don't live in becuase the mortgage company left the loan go through without my signature. Do I have a lawsuit? I quickdeeded my half to my then twenty two year old daughter, not my ex-husband.
Hi sherriee v.,
Welcome to Mortgage fit,
If the loan is modified without your signatures then definitely you are not liable to pay the mortgage...Because legally you haven't agreed to their terms and thus not liable to pay the sum...Neither the lender nor your ex can force you to pay the mortgage due....
Feel free to ask any further query if you have
