GA transfer tax on refinance

I've been told the same thing by a lender. They stated that GA requires a $600 "transer tax" on all mortgages & home sales. is this true?

there are some states where you'll have to pay property transfer taxes in case of refinance. georgia may be one of such states. you should contact your real estate agent and he will be able to help you in this matter.
