If your children are looking to buy a home, the realty agent they select to help them should have some good lenders that he/she is used to working with. Having been an agent as well as a lender myself for over 20 years, I can tell you that this is probably the best place to start. Someone looking to buy a home for the first time would be well served by interviewing several Realtors and select one they feel comfortable with. Realtor.com is a good site to find agents servicing a specific area.

I have also found zillow.com to be helpful in that anyone looking to buy a home can do a lot of research there, additionally, numerous local lenders and agents post on the forums, this gives perspective buyers the ability to interact with a lender and agent before they commit to working with them.
