i am the only one takeing care of the whole property i want to get the deed put in my name so i can keep the taxes paid on it. can i file an heirship affidavit if so what do i hav to do, since i,m the only heir that is interested in the property another reason i want the property is because of sentimental reasons.
Hi nannynancy!

Welcome to forums!

If there are other heirs to the property, then you can file an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office and get the property transferred in your name. I will suggest you to contact a real estate attorney and he will better guide you in this matter.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
