I am in the process of obtaining a home loan. But now a judgment is showing on my report from back in 07. Will this ruin any chance of getting a mortgage? The lender told me that everything else looked good. I have my average score between the three as of today was 688. I do think I have a chance of getting the person of filed the judgment to sign off that it has been satisfied. Will that help me?
If you can let the creditor remove that judgment from your credit report, then I don't think the lender will create any problem for you.
You will either need to pay the judgment or get a Warrant of Satisfaction if it was already paid.
You can get it removed only if the plaintiff puts in writing that it was filed in error and should not have been filed in the first place.
