how the Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity Program works
Hi Spade,
SHOP or Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity Program is a grant program run by HUD which provides funds to regional & national non-profit organizations. These organizations assist low income families in building their own homes using a sweat-equity (or self-help) program.
Families which receive assistance under this program are required to invest at least hundred hours of work towards building their own home or homes for others.
