I filed bankruptcy in 2009 but never received a 1099a from the lender. When I called to request for tax filing purposes, I was told, since I had a discharged account, they could not send me a 1099 & it wasn't necessary anyway, since I am exempt from paying taxes.
I don't know how else to obtain the 'sales information' necessary when filing my taxes. Any suggestions

Welcome jtakropf,
Has your property been foreclosed by the lender? Unless the property is sold off, you won't be able to get the sales information from the lender. Thus, you need to clarify the status of your property first and then claim the sales information.
