Can you be 12 months behind on a FHA Loan?

Posted on: 08th Sep, 2010 04:12 pm
We applied for a FHA Loan Modification last year. We never heard anything and our payments were too high. My spouse became unemployed and still is currently. We applied again only to be told we have no options because an FHA Loan cannot be 12 months or more behind. However we can still send a regular payment to them. Any suggestions?
Hi DRDziuk!

Welcome to forums!

As far as I know, if you are delinquent on your mortgage payments, then you can qualify for a loan modification. This is irrespective of the fact whether you've a FHA or a conventional loan. You should contact your lender once again and reapply for a modification. If the lender gives you a repayment plan then it's good for you.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
