We are in a Chapt 13 bankruptcy but got behind in Nov's (2010) mortgage pmt and was going to make up for it in Dec's (2010) pmt but couldn't. However, in Jan 2011 I sent in Nov's pmt (with the late charge) but it didn't post with HomeStreet Bank (mortgage holder) nor at our bank. I called HomeStreet several times but they refused to talk to me due to the bankruptcy and was told we could only communicate through the lawyers. Our lawyer said said they have nothing to do with it any more but to call the bank directly!!! This went back and forth for weeks... HomeStreet sent default notices to our atty who in turn sent them to us with a cover letter stating if we need help or info to contact them and again it went back & forth with the same results stated above! Feb., March & April are all repeats of Jan., in February we received our check and payment coupon back and was told we had to pay ALL past payments to date. We could not afford that and tried to make arrangements but again the bank refused to talk to us but said if they got a 'stay' from the bankruptcy, they would then be able to speak directly to us and hopefully work things out BUT when they were granted the 'stay' they said they would only let us pay the rears of $13,000 for the 1st and $8000 for the 2nd in order to stop the foreclosure proceedings. My friend told me about this Act 9 / 6 Notice app, so here I am... We live in Portland, OR.
Never heard of this notice before. Why don't you contact an attorney and take his opinion in this case? It will be a better option!

Welcome Debbie,

There are certain non-profit organizations which will offer you with Homeowner's Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program. You should contact your lender in order to find out if the lender offers such assistance.
