Right now all I can afford on my home a month is 700.00 and my payment is 1100.00, the mortage instutute is refusing to accept my payment of 700.00 at this time!! I have always made the payment up till about 4 months ago.. I am going through a divorce and I only bring in 1600.00 amonth. Is there any reason for them not to be able to accept what I can send for now? I am a single parent of two, and there would be no way I could afford to move or take my children from the area I live in..
Hi karebear!

You should inform your lender about your financial hardship and request him to give you a loan modification which will make it easier for you to pay off the dues. If the lender accepts your request, then you'll be able to get a better payment plan which will help you in paying off the dues.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
