Bankruptcy on a multi family, still receiving rents

Posted on: 29th Sep, 2013 02:21 pm
Hello...I filed for bankruptcy and received a discharge at the end of last year. My house is still in the foreclosure process but has not yet been foreclosed on. The property is a multi family and I still maintain it and receive rents. What happens to the rents I have received since my discharge, once the home gets foreclosed on?

Thanks
Hi Guest,

It would have been better if you had surrendered the property and had not taken the rental payments. You should have allowed the banks to take the rental payment.

Thanks

Hi Guest!

Welcome to the forums!

I agree with James. As the property is in the foreclosure process, it is the lender who may have the rights to collect the rental payments.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
