I want to file chapter 7 and have even spoken to a bankruptcy lawyer in this regard. I have a car loan which I even want to keep after discharge. I have an auto repossession on my credit, but there is $0 balance that I owe. Will the repo hurt my credit score post discharge?
Hi Gale,
The negative account will remain mentioned in your credit report for 7 years even though you file bankruptcy. However, the repo may not hurt your credit scores any further.
Thanks,
Jerry

Welcome Gale,
The repo was mentioned in your credit report before you file the bankruptcy. Thus, post discharge, it may not impact your credit score further.
