My father just passed the 10 year mark on his bankruptcy. So, the bankruptcy filing is off his credit report now. His credit report is blank… it shows nothing as he hasn't applied for any credit since he filed bankruptcy. He would like to buy a mobile home now and has 20% for a down payment. Would he be approved for something like this? Would it help if I applied with him since I have established credit? His score is around 646 he said and he has been working at the same job for over 2 years.
Hi Suri!
Welcome to forums!
Without any kind of credit, your father won't be able to qualify for any kind of loan. He can apply for a loan with the help of a cosigner and check out what the lender has to say in this regard. It will be the lender's discretion if he would consider giving a loan to your father.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Hi Suri,
With a blank credit report, it won't be possible for your father to get a loan. He will have to build up some credit history. He can take out a secured credit card and pay the debts on that card on time. This will help him build a credit history for himself.
Thanks
