Hi there... I am in need of help. In my credit report, I find only one charge off is mentioned. I want to pay it off and get rid of it. The CA keeps on calling me but I don’t pick up the phone as I have heard scary stories of CA harassment. What should I do now?
Charge off that is being shown in your credit report reflects your unpaid debts. If you are interested to pay off those debts, then it would be wise to pick the calls of the CA. You can convince your creditor that you are really interested to pay off the debts. Otherwise, lawsuits may be filed against you.
Hi Gwen!
Welcome to forums!
You shouldn't ignore the calls of the collection agency. Nevertheless, in your situation, I will suggest you to send a debt validation letter (DV) to the CA and wait for their reply. If they send a positive reply, then you can send a Pay for Delete (PFD) letter and check out what the CA has to say in this regard.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Hey don't make the mistake of not taking the calls!!! Talk to them about the debt and just as Sussane has mentioned, send them a debt validation letter through CMRRR.
