What should my next move be?

Posted on: 31st May, 2012 03:32 am
Well, today I get a phone call on the house phone and a guy asks for my name. I asked him who is this he wouldn't tell me so I look at the caller ID and all it shows is the 800 number. I put down the phone. I googled the number and it's for Penn Credit Corp a debt collector! Seriously I'm in a rage right now I've been working so hard to get my credit profile cleaned up so I can purchase a house! I opted out late last year and have not received any kind of debt collection bill in my name since god knows when. I just pulled my reports and there are no unknown soft pulls. What should my next move be?
You should receive the call when they call you the next time and check out what the caller has to say. Unless you know what he has to say, you won't be able to deal with the matter.

Hi Cessey!

Welcome to forums!

Niicss is right. You should receive the call and check out what he has to say. If it is a collection call and if you don't owe the debt, then you can ask the caller to validate the debt. If the CA cannot validate the debt, you can send them a debt validation letter and ask them to not contact you any further.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
