my wife and i are currently in chapter 7 bankruptcy which we had filed in march. my lawyer says it will be around july this year to get the bankruptcy discharge. my lowest score is 468 and the highest score is 589. will my scores increase a little after it discharges? my lawyer said they would. what is the fastest way to get my scores up?
As far as I know, immediately after a discharge, it will be quite difficult for you to find any increase in your scores. The bankruptcy will remain in your credit report and lower your scores. However, with time, you will find that the negative affects of bankruptcy filing will get lowered and your scores will start improving.
