i was on a trial plan with my second mortgage for about 1 1/2 years while my first mortgage was being modified. i kept in contact with both companies on a regular basis and when i went to make a payment as agreed on the second mortgage i was told it was charged-off. i did not receive a breach letter or anything stating this was about to happen, nor did any of the representatives inform me of this when i checked the status of my account on a weekly basis. my first mortgage was finalized and i explained that but the mortgage did not want to hear it.
Hi il12whit!

Welcome to forums!

The lender can charge off the account without informing you if you're delinquent on the dues. You can ask the lender to withdraw the account from collections, negotiate with him and pay off the dues.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
