Charge Off

Posted on: 08th Apr, 2009 09:29 am
I have owned a home since 1998, we moved out and rented out home, now for the past 2 1/2 years the home has been empty and we could not afford to pay it so it is just sitting there. We have not received any notices of foreclosure, we did communicate with the mortgage company, we tried a short sale, died of lieu etc. Now the mortgage company has stopped communicating all together and other companies are trying to tell us that they are the new mortgage company and want to talk. It is my understand that the original mortgage company may have done a charge off on the home so my question is how do I find out if this is the case and what is my next move supposed to be?

Thanks

If you not register yet please register now .
If they charge to your second empty home you will notice that to your mortgage company. They will help you in this matter.

Thanks.

Hi lola,

I guess your original mortgage lender has sold off your loan to another mortgage company. You can call the customer care department of your original lender and check out the whole matter. If they confirm that your loan has been sold off to another lender, then you can contact that lender and discuss your options.

Thanks
