I signed the closing documents yesterday, brought to my home by the notary. but did not sign all of them because there was an error. I was the one who found the error. I had advised the closer to correct the error before the closing. they still send over the wrong documents.
it took several phone calls to resolve the problem. should i be able to ask for a discount on the closing costs for my inconvenience? i feel like everyone is making $$ off my loan and i am doing everyone's work for them.
i will go to the bank to sign the corrected documents. should i have to pay the notary since he brought the wrong docs. the notary claims he only brings what the title company gives him

Hi caligirl!
Welcome to forums!
You may ask for a discount but it will be the lender's discretion whether or not he will consider your request.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

The notary is completely a third party. They are only supplied what the lender forwards to the escrow/title company, who then send the package to the notary. It is not your notarys fault, and they do deserve the fee for their service, who pays, is your fight. The lender should give you some break for your troubles, but you need to ask. Good luck-
