I bought a condo four years ago and recently I lost my job. I got married about two months ago and my husband is the one who pays all the bills. We have been struggling and I was wondering if I we can get mortgage modification. I'm the only one who is on the loan, what do I need to do to get my mortgage modified.
Thank you

Hi aischa!
Welcome to forums!
In order to get a modification, you'll have to contact the lender and apply for it. In my opinion, it would be difficult for you to get a loan modification because you are the only one on the loan and you've lost your job. While approving the modification, the lender will want to check out whether or not you would be able to pay off the loan after it's modified. As you've lost your job, the lender may not approve it.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Hi aischa!
If you want to go for loan modification the lender checks your source of income before approving the loan modification. As you lost the job I don't think the lender will approve the loan modification. Consult with a good attorney and check if you can sell your property to your husband or make him a co-borrower or not. If your husband becomes a co-borrower then I think you can opt for loan modification.
