I own a condo and the association fees are way past due I am trying to sell this property but they are not giving me an access card to enter the building I don't live close by so it is hard for anyone to show this apt. Can they deny me access to the building because of past due fees? please help
You would have to review your condo association's CC&R's (Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions) and bylaws to see if they have that right. Seems like it'd be illegal as you still own the home and should be able to access it, if the CC&R's & bylaws don't help then you should contact a real estate attorney in the state the condo is located in. Hope it works out for you.
