I sent all the information in to the mortgage company for a Deed In Lieu about 4 weeks ago, and about 1 week later a Realtor called and set up a time to come take pictures and do a report on the home. My question is: How long of a process is this? Can anyone tell me what is the next step that they take? I called the Mortgage collection dept. a couple weeks ago and he told me that they assigned it to someone and I should be hearing from them within the week, well that was last week and we are half way through this week. I would just like to know something, are they considering the Deed in Lieu? or are they going to deny it? Does anyone know the steps they go through?
Thank you, I'm just anxious!

Welcome drifter,
You should contact your lender and check out if they are considering the option of deed in lieu in your case. Your lender will be the best person to let you know about the same. As far as I know, a deed in lieu will take around 90 days to complete.
