deeds notes and quitclaims

How do I find out if I am on the note or deed or mortgage? we are going into foreclosure and divorce and he wants me to quitclaim from a few investment properties before divorce so that I don't get as badly affected by foreclosure
hi guest!

welcome to forums!

you can contact the county clerk's office in order to find out if your name is mentioned on the property deed. you can check out the mortgage docs to know whether or not you're liable for the loan. however, you should note that though you sign the quit claim deed and transfer the property, you will be liable for the mortgage unless your spouse refinances the mortgage in his name.

feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Check the county clerk or tax appraiser's website and look for the grantor/grantee search, use your name.
