I bought my house 2 years ago and have tried to sell it since November. My daughter received alot of harassment at the new school and wanted to end her life. We decided to leave the home. Now my husband lost his job this week and we can no longer afford our mortgage. We have kept the payments current even though we dont live there. Now we won't be able to. If we get the lender to agree to a deed in lieu and the lender sales the house for less than we owe, will we be made responsible to pay the debt back? Also, what about property taxes? Please respond quickly.
