My husband and I have a Freddie Mac mortgage thru CitiMortgage and applied for a modification. We were granted a trial modification and made the required payments on time. We submitted all documents as requested and at the end of the 3 month period were denied a permanent modification for reasons that are not clear and are false as far as we can determine. Are the guidelines for this process, specifically approving a trial modification and then denying a permanent one, listed anywhere so that we can believe that this process is not just an underhanded scheme to get a few months more payment out of struggling homeowners before foreclosing their property? We are so disillusioned by this process and need some answers and are finding it impossible getting any.
im sure theres a whole stickied thread on loan mods and guidelines for approval of perm mods. I take it youve asked your lender? What did they say to you?
