deed in lieu

It will be two years in October since my chapter 7 has been discharged. The rental property included in this is still titled to me. I contacted the bank. They will only talk to my attorney unless I send them a letter stating I am no longer being represented. But the information that the person did give was something about a deed in lieu. I guess my questions are 1) seeing how I have already filed bankruptcy, can they go back and put something on my credit report in regards to this deed in lieu? 2) is this the best course of action to get my name off this property? I was in contract with building a house when I found out the house is still in my name.
Hi rickiferguson!

Welcome to forums!

Though your mortgage has been discharged, the lender still holds the lien on the property. If you want to dispose it off, then you can go for the option of deed in lieu of foreclosure. As the property and the loan are still in your name, it will affect your credit report. In my opinion, this is one of the best options to get rid of the property.
