should i hire a consultant, ie, legal or mortgage professional to help me with a deed in lieu of foreclosure offer? i do have equity in my house and believe i will have little deficit, if any, when house is liquidated. thanks, lynn
Hi Guest,
You do not need to hire a consultant in order to apply for a deed in lieu of foreclosure. You can write a hardship letter to the lender and apply for a deed in lieu of foreclosure. Lenders generally accept a deed in lieu when you are delinquent on your mortgage payment. If you are unable to negotiate with your lender, then you can take the help of a real estate attorney to deal with your lender.
Thanks
