Deed in Lieu on FHA Loans

Posted on: 11th Mar, 2009 12:24 pm
can i get a deed in lieu of foreclosure on our fha loan? today a countrywide agent today me that they will not do a deed in lieu on a fha loan.

i am facing is a divorce which is why the home is foreclosure. my husband decided that he doesn’t not want the home and wants it to go into foreclosure, he has made plans to file for bankruptcy. i love my home and would like to keep it. the problem with that is i don’t know if i can afford it. i honestly believe with assistance from the government i could..

i have tried contacting other government agencies like the hope program and acorn. i have not been able to make any real contact a person. they both said someone would get back to me and no one has. i have submitted on line applications and heard nothing. i have started calling them back and leaving messages...only to get nowhere.

i feel as though time is running out for me. no payment has been made since may 2008; the home has been listed for 90 days and i am sure the amount owed on the loan is more than the value of the home.

please refer me to someone in my area that will assist me personally with my problem. i am on the south side of chicago.

thank you!
Hi abuford,

As far as I know, deed in lieu foreclosure is available on FHA loans. I would suggest you to speak to your lender once again inform him about your hardship. You can also contact the lender and check out if a short sale is available in your case or not. In a short sale, though you will have to pay the deficient amount to the lender, you credit score will be lowered only by 80-100 points.

Thanks.
