hi there… we have been approved for a deed in lieu of foreclosure with bank of america. are we allowed to take our appliances with us? our new home is bare so we will have nothing if we don't take them from current home.
As far as I know, you will be able to take the appliances with you if you have been approved for a deed in lieu of foreclosure.

Welcome Jabby,

Yes you can take the appliances with yourself. But you should contact your lender and take his permission before removing any appliance from the property.

We were told if when we bought the house 23 years ago if it had appliances we have to leave it the same way; appliances or not. The original papers on the home will tell us. The appliances were old, dishwasher didn't work and had to immediately get new ones. But they don't care. We have to have appliances in the home when we leave. That's despite the fact we just put $20,000.00 in improvements the last 2 years. Ouch...Don't have money to buy new ones for new place. I am so stressed.

Hi AnnieJulie!

Welcome to forums!

If that is mentioned in your mortgage docs, then you will have to abide by it. Nevertheless, you should contact a real estate attorney and take his help in this matter.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Home appliances are a part of the equity, if the statement of the bank has mentioned something specific related to equity then you can't take these with you, but if nothing is mentioned in that case you can have some basic items that are not popular with equity, to your new home.
