divorce and keeping the house

Posted on: 07th Sep, 2010 06:34 pm
my husband wants a divorce and wants to keep the house. I know he has to pay alimony and childsupport and we have two kids together and are doing 50/50 custody. If we've been married 10 years and the house is in my husbands name and I'm not on the title do to poor credit what happens to the house and could I keep it or have to sell it.
Hi whysoserious,

As your name is not on the property deed, you won't be considered as the owner of the property. In that case, you won't be able to keep the house or have any say in sale of the property.

Thanks
