Hello folks
I am looking to gut a loan and have some 5-6 year old charge offs that occurred from an accident.
Do these charge offs need to be paid or will FHA overlook them? Like I said they are over 5 year old
Thanks for any advice

The lender will not overlook the charged off accounts. Rather, the FHA approved lender might ask you to pay off the accounts and then apply for a loan. However, if the statute of limitations is over, then the lender might not ask you to pay the accounts.
Thank you very much. Yes they are way past our SOL here. Hoping for the best as they are slated to come off the CR within the year. Will post my results going to give it a try
Thanks again
Thanks again
Hi Guest,
Though the SOL period is over, the FHA lender will consider this account before giving you a loan. You remain obligated to pay the debt though the collection agency will not be able to sue you. You should pay off the debts in full to the collection agency and get rid of this charged off account.
Thanks,
Jerry
