My father is on the verge of filing BK. He was advised by the attorney that he should stop using the CCs at least 45 days prior to filing which he has done. Now the credit card company is calling him on a regular basis. What should my father do in this regard?
Hi Saannddyy,
Your father should inform the credit card company about his decision to file bankruptcy. He can also provide the credit card company with the bankruptcy attorney's number who is helping him in filing the bankruptcy. Once the bankruptcy attorney has a word with them, I'm sure the harassing calls will end.
Take care.

Welcome Saannddyy,
Your father should ask his bankruptcy attorney to complete the bankruptcy filing immediately. Once the attorney does so, your father will have a case number which he can give to the credit card companies and then they will have to stop all kind of calls to your father.

Your father may be receiving calls from the creditors because your attorney might not have completed your bankruptcy filing. In that case, you need to call your attorney and can request the attorney to expedite the process. Once the bankruptcy filing is done, you will receive a case number from your attorney. In case you receive calls from the creditors, you can show that to your lender.
