we entered into a forbearance agreement with chase. we made all of our payments on time. there has been no attempt by chase to collect on the balloon payment. we have continued to pay the agreed amount for a year. they have reported to the credit agencies that we have not made a payment in over a year! our credit score is ruined giving us no option to refinance and they are still refusing a loan mod even though we clearly qualify. we have 22 acres and 100,000 dollars (at least) equity in the land/home. we are desperately trying to hold on to our family home and have no idea where to turn for legitimate help. what is our recourse?
Hi LSM,
Do you have any documents regarding the mortgage payments? If yes, then you should show the document to the lender and ask him to remove the negative item from your list. This will help you in improving your credit scores and you may even qualify for a refinance.
