I brought a home with my boyfiend and we have lived in the property for 5 years. He is very abusive verbally abusive as he has a substance problem. Both the title and the payments are under our names. We have two boys together.
I don't have the money for an attorney and am afraid to forclose the house as I am 45 years old and live paycheck to paycheck. With his "little financial help" we barley meet all our responsibilities. What help is there out there for someone in this situation.

Welcome sofi,
If you want to save the property from being foreclosed by the lender, you and your boyfriend will have to apply for a loan modification. Depending upon your situation, the lender will let you know whether or not your loan will be modified.
