i filed chapter 7 bankruptcy a year ago. i had a mortgage and a home equity loan on my house during that time. i did not reaffirm these loans, but continued paying on them until this month. now i need to leave the house as i can’t pay anymore. looks like i will have to stop paying the mortgage and other loan. i am not sure what will now happen. how long may i expect the foreclosure to take?
It will take quite some time to complete the foreclosure process. Normally, it takes 90 days to complete the process. However, as a large number of people are into foreclosure, it might take a longer time period to complete the process.
hi guest,
a large number of people are facing foreclosure. as a result, it will take quit some time to complete the foreclosure process as niicss has suggested. you can apply for a deed in lieu of foreclosure in order to get rid of the property. however, it will be the lender's discretion whether or not he will agree to your request.
