Is foreclosure the same thing as eviction on the credit report? I gave it back to the bank. If a potential landlord pulls up my credit report and see a foreclosure when I gave the bank back my house, will that look like an eviction?
Hi Guest,
Foreclosure and eviction is not the same thing. If your property has been foreclosed and sold off by the lender, then a foreclosure will be reported on your credit report. But, it is true that many landlords may avoid renting property to you.
Thanks,
Jerry

No, it isn't the same. However, in both cases you're likely to face trouble when looking for rented places or future mortgages.
They're different, but it's happening a lot nowadays, and Landlords are more understanding then they used to be. Explain your situation, and what you've done to correct the situation, and you should be okay.

Both are different concepts but similar in the sense that the person faces problems in both the cases when looking for a property. Landlords, in most of the cases, avoid letting their property on rent to them.
