Husband will not take care of tax problem lein on house

Posted on: 27th Aug, 2008 12:21 pm
I bought my house while my husband was in jail. I was told his name had to be on the house. He has tax lein for not filing income,he hardly works and I have filed two of them myself. I am in foreclose and can not get a mortgage or send the keys back with out getting this lein off.
hi nnbruton.

welcome to the forum. i can understand your problems. the tax liens need to be paid first before paying off the lenders. are you gong for deed in lieu? in that case you need pay off the tax liens before handing over the property.

and in case of foreclosure, the tax lien will be paid with the sale proceeds and the lender will get the due amount. btw why don't you pay off the lien so that you can go for deed in lieu of foreclosure.

feel free to ask if you have further questions.

best of luck,
larry
