I have a mortgage with Everhome mortgage company, in Oct. they took over my property tax payment and raised my mortgage from 1217 to 1410. The company only told me that they took over my property tax. Anyways I kept paying the 1217 or 1266.63 when I paid after the 15th. in Feb. I get a letter saying I owed them 5888.00, I call and the one lady kept asking my why I didnt pay? To make a long story short, I ended up talking to a more competent person and they realized that the money I paid they put in escrow and now I am doing a loan modification but still getting a foreclosure notice?
If your account is being considered for a loan modification, then the lender can't send you a foreclosure notice. You should contact your lender and check out whether or not they would approve your request for a modification. If your request is denied, then the lender can foreclose the property.
yes they did start me on a loan modification program, but I thought it was strange that they still sent me a certified letter friday saying if I didnt pay the 5888.00 they would contact a lawyer.
Hi karen!
Welcome to forums!
As Niicss has suggested, you should contact your lender immediately and clarify the whole issue. You should negotiate with them so that you do not have to pay $5888.00 to the lender immediately.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
