I am an African-American single mother of two children. I just purchanse my home in Sept ('08). My neighbors and the local law enforcement are terribly harrassing me and my family. I need to move. My question is: Without just giving the house back to the bank (Bank of America) can I get out of this mortgage legally???
List the property for sale. Contact an attorney about the discrimination, if has driven you to this point. I hope this helps...
Hi dmachome
I agree with Eric. You should contact a real estate broker and list the property for sale. If you sell off the property, you will have to immediately pay off the mortgage dues. You can then look out for another property. As far as the racial discrimination is concerned, you should definitely contact an attorney and file a case in the court.
Thanks.

"getting out of the mortgage" is a topic that i would anticipate is unrelated to the discrimination, is it not?
other than that, the local authorities would need to be contacted to discuss the discriminatory behavior you have encountered. and, yes, you can certainly place your home on the market, perhaps selling it quickly for a tidy profit, we would hope.
