my ex-husband and i have been divorced for years. we still own a property together which ,per our agreement, he was supposed to either refinance or sell the house. he was unable to do either because he stopped paying the mortgage and has many many liens against it. the mortgage company keeps filing for foreclosure, but then he files act 91 or promises a payment (which never happens) and then they postpone foreclosure again. i just want this property out of my life. do i have any options????
Welcome dnsldwg,
You're in a tough situation. If you want to remove your name from the mortgage, your ex-husband will have to either refinance the mortgage or sell it off to pay off the loan. If none of these happen, then you won't be able to remove your name from the mortgage. The late payments and liens will also be mentioned in your credit report as you are on the mortgage.

go back to your divorce lawyer and, i suppose, the divorce court for possible relief. i don't know what, if any, relief it will bring, but you'd probably reap the satisfaction of having your former husband being found in contempt of the order (perhaps).
that isn't really a solution as you desire, of course. all you want is for the home to be liquidated, after all.
