My girlfriend and I had refinanced the house she had with her ex a year and a half ago. We now no longer wish to to live together and have put the house on the market for almost 3 months and have not had any bites and very few viewings.
I would like to just walk away and let her have any profit in the house - what are my legal obligations.
Pleaase let me know if there is any additional information you would need to answer this question
thanks for any input

Hi paul,
You can transfer the property to her by signing a quit claim deed. However, this won't remove you from the mortgage obligation. Your girlfriend will have to refinance the loan in her name in order to release you from the mortgage obligation.
Thanks
