my grandmother is deceased, and her property may be endangered to have lien put on it,none of her children including my mother are interested in the seriousness of this matter,i would like to take steps in taking over the property handling the taxes and other matters... what are the steps i take? can i turn the deed in my name?
Hi brunsonbrittany,

You will have to file an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office and get the property transferred in your name. In order to do so, you will have to take the permission of all the other heirs. Once the property is transferred in your name, you can pay off the taxes and other bills. If there is a mortgage on the property, then you will have to refinance it in your name.
