Our house was scheduled to be sold at sherriff's sale this week and we just now found out that it will be continued until November. Something about a HAMP certification needing to be done. Does anyone know what this is?
Also, are we still responsible for the upkeep of this property, which we aren't living in anymore, until the November sale date?
HELP!!

Hi Guest,
Unless the property is sold off at the foreclosure sale, you may be held liable for the maintenance of the property. If your property is scheduled to be sold off through foreclosure, then you won't be requiring any kind of Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) certification. The lender will offer you HAMP if you wish to save the property.
