14 months ago, i participated in a home modification program through my current mortgage co. what a joke, it dragged on for a year, and then after my credit was totally ruined they released us from the program and now say we are behind in our mortgage payments. even though , i have bank statements showing every single payment was made on time. we are paying 11.2 percent and would like to refinance with a cash out to do some updating on our home and paying off 3 credit cards. we have lived in our home for 15 years and would like to update to possibly sell at a later date.
Welcome rowens,
If you've made all the payments on time, then you should show the required documents to the lender and inform him that you're not delinquent on your mortgage payments. If you're current on your mortgage payments and if you've equity in your property, then you would be able to get a refinance. You can contact your present lender for the refinance or even contact other local lenders for the same.
