Hi there… I need to know whether a third party who lent money to me for home purchase about a year ago with a verbal agreement to repay and who does have paperwork regarding this loan now place a lien on my home?
If the third party has written documents regarding that loan and if you're not paying off that loan, then he can file a lawsuit against you and place a lien on your property. You can contact an attorney and take his opinion in this matter.
Hi Wella,
I agree with Niicss' opinion. If someone has lent you money and has a written proof of it, then he can file a lawsuit against you and get a judgment in his favor if you don't pay off the debts. However, if there is no written proof of the loan, then they won't be able to file a lawsuit against you.
Thanks
