I owed a property back in 1998, 1999. fell behind went to HUD for help and gave a loan. later sold the property in year of 2004 and all debt to the property suppose had been included now present in 2008 i receive a letter from then stating that i still owe 10,000 dollars to them. There stating that they wee never paid. i dont understand #1 why are they just now contacting me after almost 5 years #2 they suppose to had been included in the sale. what do i do???????
Hi dpierre!

Welcome to Forums!

You must have documents stating that the house was sold along with the debts. You must also have documents stating the sale of the property in 2004. You can take all these documents with you and meet the higher authorities in HUD. You can also take your legal adviser with you. Speak to them about the issue and I hope you will be able to resolve it.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.

Hi dpierre!

I think Sussane is right. You should immediately contact the officials at HUD and take all the required documents which show that you have sold the property and that the debts were included in it.

Thanks,

Jerry
