Hi there… need help for my friend. She filed Chapter 7 and turned over the keys to HSBC. It is more than 18 months now but the house is still vacant and there is no change of ownership on the county assessor website. People are trying to buy this house and HSBC will not respond. According to the county no foreclosure has been initiated. HSBC did pay back dues and legal fees to the HOA. According to market value estimate and bankruptcy papers, this house is only about $10000 underwater. How do you get HSBC's attention?
If people are trying to buy the property and it is still listed in your friend's name, then they may be able to have a realtor help them with the whole process and also contact HSBC on their behalf to initiate the process.
Welcome Condy,
