Ok, I am currently current on my mortgage but struggling. I am applying for a modification to be done to lower my payments temporarily. I am married, but my husband isnt on the loan, or title. Am I by law required to give them all of his information along with mine?
Hi smrtars,
If your husband is not on the loan or on the property deed, then I don't think they should ask you about his information. I think you should ask your lender as to why he wants your husband's information. This will help you in resolving the issue.
Thanks

If you did not use your husbands income and/or credit to qualify for this loan, then as far as they're concerned he is not responsible for the loan. Please make sure none of the documents you had signed when applying for this loan had your husbands information or signature. Pending you are listed as the sole owner of the property, then you should not have to mention any of your husbands financial status. I hope this helps...
